Plan of Chapter 2 for narration

1. Omri gets too excited before going to school. Before going to school, Omri was dying to open the cupboard door. But it didn’t work out. The three brothers made a fight at breakfast.  They arrived at school late and in a very grubby condition.
2. Omri thanks Patrick from the bottom of his heart for his birthday present. Once Omri set eyes on Patrick at school, not for one single second for the rest of the day was the Indian out of his thoughts.
3. Omri gets three out of ten for his spelling test.Later, that day Omri had been marked three out of ten for the spelling test. Patrick made a joke that the plastic Indian could have done better than him. And Omri revealed him a secret that the Indian could only speak English.
4. Omri opens unwarily his secret to Patrick.Several times Omri nearly did tell Patrick what happened, and couldn’t help dropping a number of tantalizing hints. He was somehow scared that if he talked about the Indian, something bad would happen.
5. Omri does not skateboard after school and rushes home to see his Indian. After school Patrick wanted Omri to stay on the school ground and skateboard. For weeks Omri had longed to do this. But he refused to play together and rushed home. Omri wanted to get to know the Indian himself before introducing him to anyone else, even Patrick.
6. The Indian lies on the floor of the cupboard stiff and stark but in a different position. The most awful thought had come to Omri during the last lesson. What if Omri had killed him? Omri was appalled at the thought of it. He ran all the way home, raced up the stairs without even saying hello to his mother. Once he turned the key in the lock and opened the cupboard door, the Indian lay there on the floor of the cupboard stiff and stark.
7. The pain of sadness, and guilt burns inside Omri and he locks back the door of the cupboard. The Indian was made of plastic again.  Omri knelt there, appalled  – too appalled to move. He thought that he had killed the Indian and his dream. Omri stroke his Indian with his finger. There was a painful thickness in the back of his throat. He let the tears come, and just knelt there and cried.
8. Mother shuts the door. That evening at supper Omri couldn’t eat anything and could not talk. His mother took him upstairs and put him to bed. Omri felt so bad and he was quite glad to be made a fuss of. His mother coaxed him, sighed and left the room.
9. Omri hurries downstairs to bring food.A scratching – a muttering – a definitely (a)live sound suddenly came from the cupboard.  Omri tremblingly turned the key, and there was the Indian. Alive again!  Omri was so happy he could scarcely speak. He gasped and hurried downstairs to bring food.
10. The Indian eats food on a paper plate. Omri feels excessively happy and drunk. Omri cut a circle of a paper plate for the Indian a small, then broke off a crumb of bread, took some cheese, one kernel of sweet corn.  He poured a minute amount of Coke into the mug. The Indian began to tear at them ravenously.
11. Omri gets a nickname of Great White Spirit. When Omri switched off his bedside lamp for the friend to go to bed, the Indian gave a cry of astonishment (удивление). He then gazed at Omri with a sort of awe [ɔ].  He thought that Omri dies magic.
12. The Indian pushes away a plastic tepee, makes a face and spits on the ground. Omri found a plastic tepee in a biscuit tin. It was a small, pinkish, cone-shaped object with designs rather badly painted on its plastic sides. The Indian touched it, made a face and pushed it with both hands. Then he actually spat on the ground.
13. Omri holds the little creature and puts him on the chest of drawers. Omri saw his chance. With one quick movement, he had picked up the Indian by the waist between his thumb and forefinger. The dangling Indian twisted, writhed [raɪðt], kicked, made a number of ferocious faces – but beyond that he was helpless. For Omri, the feeling of holding this creature in his fingers was very strange and wonderful.
14. Omri finds out more about the Indian.Omri found out that the Indian’s name was Little Bear. He was a brave Iroquois [ˈɪrəkwɔɪ]  and the son of the chief (сын вождя).
15. Omri builds a te(e)pee for the Indian. Then Omri proposed to make a tepee. Starting with some pick-up sticks and a bit of string, he made a sort of cone shape, tied at the top. Around this, he draped first a handkerchief [ˈhæŋkətʃɪf] and a bit of old felt from a hat. Then he pinned it at the back with safety pins and slit a cut.
16. Little Bear wraps himself with a blanket made of Omri’s old sweater.Because Little Bear didn’t like a sleeping roll, Omri cut up a square out of his old red sweater with a stripe around the bottom. Little bear wrapped it around himself, dropped on his knees and crawled into the tent.
17. Nothing in Omri’s life ever promises better. Omri felt very sleepy. He would do anything for his new friend. Indeed nothing in his life had ever promised better.
